The Olathe Sweet Corn Festival is a family event full of music, food and fun. Festival goers enjoy all the "Olathe Sweet" sweet corn they can eat. This year's event features free contests and games, over 150 food, arts and crafts, carnival games, commercial, ride and novelty booths. The Agricultural Center features informative and educational exhibits. And there is a variety of continuous entertainment throughout the day.

• Over 800 local people volunteer their time to assure the success of the event.

Structure

• The Olathe Sweet Corn Festival is an enterprise fund of the Town of Olathe
• The Olathe Town Council and a seven member Advisory Board that is appointed by the Town Council govern the Festival
• The Festival Board has adopted the philosophy of giving nonprofit groups the opportunity to earn money and gives special considerations to nonprofit organizations participating in the event.
• The Festival employs an Executive Director year round and a part time coordinator and volunteer coordinator during summer months.
